Title: NHS Lanarkshire’s Advanced Nurse Practitioners

Motion Text:
That the Parliament congratulates NHS Lanarkshire on the introduction of 18 trainee advanced nurse practitioners (ANPs); understands that the ANPs are highly experienced and educated and able to work in a variety of areas; notes that the first team in 2017 began working to support general practice on the out of hours services as part of the Primary Care Transformation approach; further notes that the second team began working across NHS Lanarkshire in the three university hospital sites with a speciality in mental health work; recognises the important contribution that both teams make to mental health and primary care services, and appreciates the importance of ANPs in the delivery of future services for the NHS board.
