Cross Party Groups

Scottish Parliament Cross-Party Groups (CPGs) provide an opportunity for Members of all parties, along with outside organisations and members of the public to meet and discuss a shared interest in a particular cause or subject. Margaret is currently convener of the CPGs on: Dyslexia, and Adult Survivors of Childhood Sexual Abuse. She is also co-convener of the CPG on Taiwan. In addition she is a member of the following CPGs on: Scotch Whisky; Tibet; Recreational Boating and Tourism. You can learn more about the parliament’s CPGs online at:

Issues and Events

The parliament has numerous different events and exhibitions each week on a wide variety of issues.

Justice Committee

Margaret is the Convenor of the Scottish Parliament’s Justice Committee, having been elected to the role on 14th June 2016.  The primary role of the Justice Committee is to scrutinise the policies and performance of the Scottish Government and its agencies in matters related to justice.You can find out more about the on-going work of the Committee here.
