Bellshill War Memorial

Nov. 27th 2014

Margaret was delighted to attend the ”official cutting of the ribbon” at Bellshill War Memorial in November. Newly completed works at the memorial have seen the installation of a granite bench inscribed with a verse written by a Senior 2 pupil of Bellshill Academy- Sarah Lindsay-commemorating the sacrifice of World War 1.

Children 1st collect over 600 children’s wishes to mark 130th anniversary

Nov. 24th 2014

Children 1st (formerly the Royal Scottish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children) have marked their 130th anniversary by asking the children they work with to share their wishes for the future. Over 600 wishes were sent in and have been made into a booklet.

Margaret recently met with Children 1st volunteers at the Parliament and has signed a new year’s resolution which will hopefully make a big difference to how children deal with conflict both at school and at home- more details in January!
