Dyslexia Awareness Week, Ellie’s Blue Ribbon Campaign

Oct. 31st 2014

Margaret has recently lodged the following motion:

That the Parliament welcomes Ellie’s Blue Ribbon Dyslexia Campaign 2014; understands that Ellie is Dyslexia Scotland’s young people’s ambassador and that this successful campaign to raise awareness about dyslexia is in its third year; believes that Ellie was diagnosed with dyslexia when she was nine and the misunderstanding about the condition that she encountered prompted her to launch the campaign; notes that it coincides with Dyslexia Awareness Week 2014, which runs from 3 to 9 November and includes a programme of library workshops and events; further notes that blue ribbons are available for free from Dyslexia Scotland and that Sir Jackie Stewart OBE has demonstrated his support by wearing one; commends Ellie on the initiative, and wishes the campaign continued success.
