‘See Me’

Nov. 28th 2012

Margaret hangs her card on the tree.

‘See Me’ is Scotland’s national campaign to end the stigma and discrimination of mental ill-health and this year celebrates its 10thAnniversary. As part of their exhibition in parliament, they displayed a timeline of the progress the campaign has made over the last decade. There was also a tree to represent the campaign’s growth. MSPs were encouraged to write a card with what progress they’d like to see made regarding mental health by 2022. Margaret commented on her card that she would like to see progress made on recognising that many female prisoners are not a danger to the public but have mental health issues which must be addressed. A Polaroid was then taken of the MSP with their card and the ‘understand’ sign which were then printed and hung on the tree.
